Our Lady of Mercy College Parramatta is an independent Catholic school for girls, founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1889 and entrusted to Mercy Partners in 2021. The opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Compliance and WHS Manager to lead and coordinate the College’s risk, compliance, health and safety, and Child Safe functions. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust policies, procedures, and frameworks.

Working directly with the Director People, Culture and Compliance and in close collaboration with College leadership and key stakeholders, you will ensure ongoing compliance with legislative requirements, Child Safe Standards, NESA Registration, and broader sector expectations.

This position is integral to supporting our workforce, safeguarding children and young people, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the College.



What are we looking for?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to schools, including Child Protection, Work Health and Safety, governance and compliance obligations.
  • Understanding of Child Safe Standards, risk management principles and policy development within an educational setting.
  • Awareness of school operational environments and the importance of partnering with leaders and staff to support safe, compliant and effective practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Effective communication, facilitation and training skills, with the ability to deliver staff training and awareness initiatives and engage stakeholders positively.
  • Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain records and support compliance processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, support solutions and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to coordinate committees, training and compliance-related activities in a collaborative and service-oriented manner.
  • Actively support and participate in the life of the College, and the Catholic mission and Mercy values of the College.
  • Compliance with relevant Workplace Health & Safety requirements
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

What you need to know

  • Working hours and days are negotiable with a minimum commitment of four days per week.
  • Six weeks Annual Leave.
